HBO strikes again

Liz and Valerie are starting to wonder what's going on over at HBO. First, they nab Preacher (and give it to a dork, but that's besides the point). Now, they've got another beloved series set for conversion into televised form.

A Song of Fire and Ice by George R. R. Martin, aka the Frank Herbert of fantasy, will be made into a seven-season series with one season for each novel. If you think that sounds like a stretch, you're so wrong; each novel alone could probably be its own series.

The good news is, it is allegedly being written by a guy who actually knows what he's doing. The bad news is, HBO is as fickle as Jennifer Lopez, so the odds of the whole series being made are woefully slim. Whether this is good or bad news for the Martin fans remains to be seen.
